Control Components Pty Ltd (CCPL), incorporated in Sept 1997 (ABN 24 080 175 293), is family owned and operated by Peter, Ben and Robyn Metman.  Peter spent nearly 25 years working for Honeywell in sales, marketing and senior management roles. Ben is a Process Engineer (B.Eng Mechatronics, Hons) from the University of Technology Sydney.  Our other sales, office and factory staff have joined our team as the company has grown.

The initial CCPL product lines began as a result of changes in strategic direction by Honeywell Australia and their move to CCPL was facilitated through the close association Peter had with the overseas principals.  Whilst new suppliers have been added since 1997, the portfolio of suppliers remains intentionally small with emphasis on continuing strong relationships and a focus on promoting the full product range offered by each.

Our basic philosophy is to operate like a branch office of our principals - implementing the marketing and promotional programs of the “head office”, albeit modified to meet the needs “Downunder”.  We offer the kind of old fashioned customer service expected of a small, owner operated business.

Customers

The CCPL focus is on broad promotion of lines to end users, system integrators, contractors, manufacturers and technical distributors.  Sales are generally directed to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Distributor partners and wholesalers in major industrial regions of Australia, New Zealand and other Pacific Islands.  Distributors are appointed because of their ability to effectively service local customers by providing technical, application and product support.

Local Stock

Local inventory (complete sensors, spare parts & assembly components), is held at our facility in Miranda NSW.  Generally, orders for stock items are shipped out the same day via customer nominated account or as a paid shipment, by our freight method selected to optimise delivery.

Local & International Approvals

Where required, our products are submitted for relevant approvals directly by our principals. Increasingly for hazardous areas this means IECEx (www.iecex.com), although some products still carry FM / UL, CSA or ATEX approvals.

For demanding process applications we are able to offer products with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) capability.

Many of our Suppliers have products approved by a number of the global marine agencies (e.g. Lloyd’s Register, ABS, DNV & GL).

Local Fabrication and Assembly of Products

  • Local fabrication of Weka magnetic visual level indicators (VLI’s) began in August 1998, with larger chamber (50bar, 316SS) and engineered plastic fabrication, added in 2005.
  • We do local configuration of Gems Sensors & Controls products as required.
  • Trimod Besta float extension rods and non-stock models can be configured locally to meet specific application or customer needs.
  • Custom machining, modifications and other value added designs to meet application requirements will be evaluated and implemented either locally or at the principal’s factory, as appropriate.
  • Where appropriate and typically as a result of a customer request or perceived need, we manufacture accessory items or components to make use of our suppliers’ products easier for our customers.

Warranty, Repair and Service

The full Manufacturer warranty is supported by CCPL and whilst many products are maintenance free, most are supported by local stock of common spares.  Where more cost effective, expedient or required, sensors will be shipped back to the Manufacturer for repair.

Distributors and Resellers

Distributors are appointed because of their demonstrated ability to provide excellent local customer support and service.  Locations will depend upon customer feedback, available market, geographical coverage, etc.

Distributors are reviewed against agreed plans to ensure all elements of the sales process are correctly in place and operating efficiently.

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)

OEMs are typically volume users that install our products within their own equipment and will generally be handled directly to ensure the support process is as expedient as possible.  Where necessary, CCPL will act as manufacturers’ representative on behalf of our principals, to ensure we are competitive with other worldwide suppliers.

OEMs are encouraged to embrace the CCPL OEM Commitment as it outlines reciprocal responsibilities for the supply and delivery of their product needs and our commitment to local support inventory specific to their order requirements.

Quality commitment

Control Components is committed to a limited number of high quality, field proven product lines that generally exceed our customer’s expectations, offering excellent value for money.  Most of our principals are certified to the ISO quality assurance standards (e.g. ISO 9001).
